This marks the launch of a new historical fiction series set during the War of 1812, showing real events in a fictionalized format. Facing one failure after another, President Madison appoints Jonah Leea trusted scout for General "Mad" Anthony Wayneto ensure that the Northern American army under General William Harrison takes the fight to the British, pushing them back into Canada. The first book moves from the massacre at the River Raisin to Commodore Perry's great defeat of the British on the Great Lakes to the overwhelming British defeat at the battle of the Thames.
Georgia-based novelist Michael Aye is a retired naval officer and author of the highly popular naval fiction series, The Fighting Anthonys, set against the American Revolution at sea. The second installment in the 1812 series will deal with the Battle of Horseshoe Bend and feature such historical figures as Davy Crockett, Andrew Jackson and Sam Houston. The third title will focus on the Battle of New Orleans, which occurred after the war was over and the treaty was signed. Pre-release copies of the books are available to professional readers through NetGalley or the publisher's website.
This series is part of Los Angeles-based Bitingduck Press's young adult collection, under the Boson Books imprint. Boson Books was one of the first e-publishers on the web, providing electronic books since 1994. Acquired by Bitingduck in 2012, the Boson imprint provides fiction and non-fiction in electronic format for all readers, and many books in print. The Aye series will be released in trade paperback along with its digital editions. Electronic books are also sold in other retail stores using the patent-pending Web Bytez system.
