Author A. K. Hasan believes leaders are both born and made, and that individuals, when properly trained, can become above-average leaders later on.
In his new motivational guide, "Gladiator Leaders: Don't Drink the Laced Drink" (published by AuthorHouse), Hasan describes his approach to leadership, which identifies joining "the herd" as the wrong tactic to break out in the business world.
Hasan's "Gladiator Leaders" employs 24 steps, that when actively practiced, can help readers become capable of transforming abstract ideas into winning policies, ordinances and even laws. When properly utilized, Hasan says these 24 steps can work continuously for aspiring leaders.
"The 24 steps can be utilized by anyone aspiring for a position of leadership in the private or public sector," Hasan says. "The 24 steps to mastering 'Gladiator Leadership' are implemented based on context and timing, but they are not diminished over time."

About the Author
A. K. Hasan developed the "Unconform" approach to leadership, which led to his election to a school board at age 26. At 27, he was elected president of the same board. He was the first African American elected to the position and the youngest ever to serve as president. He was later elected to a city council. After 16 years outside politics, he reemerged and was elected to a one-year term on the school board. He is now a strong advocate for magnet schools and helped found three outstanding schools of the type. Hasan is a lifelong resident of Georgia. "Gladiator Leaders" is his first book.
