With depression being one of the most diagnosed diseases in the US, Ellenor Eubanks Shepherd says daily doses of penicillin are just what the Great Physician prescribed for spiritual healing and happiness.
In Grow Your Own Penicillin, Shepherd presents a combination of 72 reflections, verses, poems and narratives that aspire to teach faith in a unique and non-intimidating way. With stories that can be easily be scattered throughout the week, these doses of "good mold" help readers jump-start their immune system by reading a chapter when the Good Doctor orders.
These "prescriptions" help in seeking answers, comfort, God or just laughter. Equipped with ways to gain a happier and healthier spirit, Grow Your Own Penicillin provides the encouragement and hope that each "patient" can read for a livened spirit and inspiration.
"This book can resonate with the those requesting answers or just laughter," says Shepherd. "It can be used as inspiration, whether it is read in increments or in its entirety because each chapter has a specific and special prescription to life's problems."
