N.K. Flanigan invites readers to embark on a journey of faith and spiritual communion with the release of "A Communion of Saints" (published by Xlibris). In her new book Flanigan paints a deeply moving portrait of the human aspect of the church and the struggles of members to reconcile their humanity with spirituality.
A close friend of the author once said, "Nothing tests your faith more than working for the Catholic Church." Flanigan realized how true those words were after working for two parishes. The experience presented her with great challenges but, ultimately, it strengthened her faith and gave her a deep sense of compassion for the people that make up the church. She decided to write "A Communion of Saints," a story of faith, betrayal, reconciliation and communion, to share what she learned and to remind readers that the church has been and will always be there for them.
"If it weren't for us sinners there would be no Catholic Church," Flanigan says, "It is the only place on earth that offers reconciliation, penance, and Eucharistic celebration - the very essence of life."
