NEW YORK, Oct. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ Chrys Chryssanthou should know something about keeping young. At age 90, he dances, swims, plays tennis, exercises daily and writes books. He also gives lectures and has delivered talks in three continents. The author, who is a retired Professor of Pathology, shares his prescription on staying youthful in his new book, How To Keep Young: A Prescription To Achieve Ageless Aging (Xlibris).

The prescription, which includes one useful mind strategy, is a 3-point instruction plan that covers eight behavioral precepts, and provides guidance to help adults of all ages maintain youthfulness and health, both physically and mentally.

Chryssanthou (who turns 91 this month), is often asked how he has managed to seem much younger than his years.

He says one of the key factors in staying young involves "resetting" your mind to think younger, a tip further defined in the book. He explains, "This effective mind technique is a psychological one, one which if you are willing to act upon it and believe it, can give you vitality and make you feel and act youthful." The details of the mind tool are provided in the 3-point plan, which advocates eight important behaviors to maintain health and wellness, with particular emphasis on regular exercise to help fight aging (and possibly protect against Alzheimer's disease).

The book also contains overlooked but energy-replenishing tools the author himself uses such as a quick, late-day nap, which can help older adults improve alertness and mood without compromising night sleep.

Opening the book is a historical review of mankind's quest for eternal youth, as well as mentions of new treatments and personal anecdotes on society's approaches to aging.

How To Keep Young is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Chrysbooks.
