At least 10 percent of children are bullied regularly, bullyingstatistics.org, and authors Regina Davis and Carolyn Royer Spencer write their new children's book to help educate children on the severe consequences of bullying.
Davis and Spencer's created "Lord Computesalot, Ruler of Aurora Bullyalis and His Secret Quest to End Bullying," illustrated with original art work by Spencer, to provide guidance on the importance of ending bullying.
"We are two caring sensitive retired teachers and want children to enjoy life without fear of bullying," Davis said.
This clever, fantasy picture book varies from other bullying topic children's books because it presents adults bullying each other and displays to children how outlandish and hurtful these actions can be.
"The book could have an impact on helping diminish the bullying epidemic by showing adults bullying each other," Davis said. "Kids then can see how ridiculous bullying is and become problem solvers, using critical thinking skills which are important since children today have had their creativity stifled by the rote learning for required testing procedures."
