This holiday season, Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) will present Charles Dickens' THE CHIMES: A Goblin Story with a world-premiere adaptation by John Hurley.

Opening December 2, the production will star Andrea Andolina, Gerry Maher, Lisa Vitrano, Nick Lama and Steve Brachmann under the direction of John Hurley. Originally written in 1844, the short novel by Charles Dickens' (The Chimes: A Goblin Story of Some Bells that Rang an Old Year Out and a New Year In) was his second of a five short stories series containing strong social and moral messaging, the first being A Christmas Carol.

Published one year after A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens' little known Holiday tale is brought to life in this world-premiere adaptation in which five actors play nineteen characters in a fast-paced, warm-hearted fable of fun and fright. It's New Year's Eve and old Toby Veck and his daughter Meg have little in life except each other's love. But when the ancient church bells chime at midnight, the Goblins of the Bells will teach poor Toby a frightening lesson of what it is to be rich in life-by taking his away.

The Chimes: A Goblin Story opens Friday, December 2 and runs through Sunday, December 18, at the Road Less Traveled Theater at 500 Pearl Street. Regular performance times are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30PM and Sunday at 2:00PM. Tickets are $35 general admission. Mighty Taco Student Thursdays will not be offered during the holiday production. Tickets can be ordered online at www.roadlesstraveledproductions.org, by calling the RLTP Box Office at (716) 629-3069, or by visiting the Box Office during the 30 minutes prior to any performance. Advance purchase is suggested.
