On May 6th, Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) will welcome its 2017 American Theatre Master, Pulitzer Prize-winning Playwright Donald Margulies.

The day will begin with a free-to-the-public Q&A session at 2:00pm with Mr. Margulies moderated by the RLTP Literary Director Jon Elston at the Road Less Traveled Theater in an Actors Studio style. That evening, Mr. Margulies will be guest of honor during an invite-only performance of The Country House.

Mr. Margulies' work is featured twice, bookending the company's 2016-2017 season, beginning with Dinner with Friends (fall 2016) and closing with The Country House (April 28 - May 21). In 2014, RLTP Artistic & Executive Director Scott Behrend had the pleasure of working alongside Mr. Margulies and Director Dan Sullivan to assistant direct the world-premiere of The Country House at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles starring Blythe Danner and Scott Foley.

A little bit more about the American Theatre Masters series: Road Less Traveled Production (RLTP) selects an American drama of great merit - generally one previously unseen in WNY - and produces it as an American Theatre Master selection. A high-profile theatre artist closely associated with that play (usually the playwright) is then invited to visit the Road Less Traveled Theater during the run of the production. Our American Theatre Master presides over a lengthy afternoon Master Class session with RLTP's New Play Workshop playwrights, Ensemble, and area students, enjoys an evening performance of their play, and is the Guest of Honor at RLTP's Spring Gala. Past American Theatre Masters include Eric Bogosian (actor/playwright), A.R. Gurney (playwright), Edward Albee (playwright), James Rebhorn (actor), Scott Ellis (director), Stephen Adly Guirgis (playwright), and Pam McKinnon (director).

Seating for the May 6th 2:00pm Q&A session is limited. To reserve a seat, call (716) 629-3069 or email at reservations@roadlesstraveledproductions.org. There will be no public performance of The Country House on Saturday May 6th, 2017.
