The New Year will bring the third production to the 545 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo NY performance space as ART/WNY newcomer Matthew Refermat makes his directorial debut overseeing Thornton Wilder's timeless piece of American theater, OUR TOWN.
Penned in 1938, Wilder's less extreme than Pirendello's SIX ACTORS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR metatheatre three-act play features the daily lives of folks dwelling in the mythical small American town of Grover's Corner. Refermat assembled a diverse cast including, ART/WNY debut makers, Verneice Turner in the driving role of 'Stage Manager', Kerrykate Abel as "Myrtle Webb', Ryan Kaminski as 'Simon Stimson', Kit Kuebler as 'Emily Webb', Vivian Porter as 'Rebecca Gibb', Russell Holt as 'George Gibb', Karen Harty as 'Mrs Soams', Jack Horohoe as 'Charles Webb', and Shakora Purks as 'McCarthy'. ART/WNY alumni include Shayna Raichelson-Zadok as 'Julie Gibbs', Ayden Herreid as 'Wally Webb', Victor Morales as 'Doc Gibb', and John F Kennedy as 'Professor'. OUR TOWN showdates are January 4, 10, 11 at 8 pm, January 5 & 12 at 5 pm, January 6 & 13 at 2 pm.
