This is the rock musical of the coming of age story of our seventh president and of theUnited States.
The world is changing and "the people's president" leads us through history with cowboys,Indians, politics and prostitutes and all the craziness that a rock musicalcould ever ask for. It's punk. It's rock. It's traditional. It's unorthodox. With song titles such as "Populism YeaYea", "Illness as Metaphor" and "Crisis Averted" it is apowerful show with many contemporary issues that will keep you screaming.
Highly acclaimed for its unorthodox story and staging BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACSON takes us from theTennessee hills during the late 18th century up to his legacy as our seventhpresident of the United States Some calling him our greatest president while others regard him as nothing more than a poor man's Hitler.
It premiered in January 2008 in Culver City and had its New York City opening in May 2009. Set now forits Western New York premiere (Yes. Another premiere by ART) it will be performed at ART's newly renovated black-box space in the intimate basement of the historic Ascension Church.
This being the first of the intimate surroundings of ART IN THE BOX (it's even below ground level) shows and a Curtain Up opening it will be a rock show that willmake even a church ghost dance and scream. So, pony up to the show and get ready to dance and scream and leave tapping your feet and singing a little "hoarse".
