MusicalFare Theatre, Western New York's most awarded and only professional musical theatre company, presents the third production of its 2016-2017 Season, Duke Ellington's SOPHISTICATED LADIES, running February 1st - March 5th, 2017, directed and choreographed by John Fredo with music direction by George Caldwell.
The musical legacy of Duke Ellington is celebrated in this stylish and brassy retrospective revue that has taken audiences and critics by storm. It's a high-stepping salute that features such Ellington classics as Take the A Train, It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing, Satin Doll, Don't Get Around Much Anymore, plus so many more!
In addition to the seven-person cast, the production also features a six-piece band featuring Grammy-Winner George Caldwell at the piano and WNY legend Bobby Militello on reeds!
The MusicalFare cast includes Cecelia Barron, Annette Christian, Dudney Joseph, Jr., LonDon Lee, Katy Miner, Ben Michael Moran and Zoe Scruggs.
Set Design is by Chris Schenk, Lighting & Sound Design is by Chris Cavanagh, Costume Design is by Kari Drozd and Hair, Wig and Makeup Design is by Susan Drozd.
The performance schedule is February 1st - March 5th, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00pm, Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 3:30pm and 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:00pm. There will be a special "half-price preview" on Tuesday, January 31st at 7:00pm. Meet-the-cast talkbacks take place after all Wednesday performances EXCEPT opening night, February 1st.

MusicalFare Theatre is a professional musical theatre company in residence at, but independently operated from, Daemen College. MusicalFare Theatre is located at 4380 Main Street in Amherst, NY (between Harlem and Getzville Roads). Parking is FREE, and the theatre is handicapped accessible, complete with a hearing-impaired system.
