The Jewish Repertory Theatre will celebrate its 15th anniversary, on Monday, October 2, 2017, 6-8 p.m. at the historic Hotel Henry, located at 444 Forest Avenue in Buffalo, on the Buffalo State College campus. A national landmark many years in the making, the urban resort and conference center anchors a 42-acre campus designed by H.H. Richardson and Frederick Law Olmsted.
The three-year restoration and renovation project, which cost more than $102 million, includes three of the 11 buildings that were part of the former Buffalo State Asylum for the Insane. The renovated buildings which are now being used for conferences, accommodations and dining, features innovative, beautifully decorated and appointed meeting and dining space, 88 guest rooms and a maze of long and winding corridors. Other touches include Medina sandstone with the original red mortar now visible after being hidden for years behind a brick entry, and a new slate roof with copper flashing that extends over the Towers Building.
