Existence Of Hell Questioned In Final Production Of RLTP's 2017/18 Season Image

Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) concludes its 2017/18 season with the topic of faith in its upcoming Western New York-premiere production of The Christians by Lucas Hnath. The Christians, nominated for 2016 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, will star Dave Hayes, Aaron Moss, Steve Jakiel, Victoria Pérez, and Lisa Vitrano under the direction of RLTP Artistic Director Scott Behrend. The production will also feature area choir members from various churches in WNY. Production team includes Karen Saxon (music director), Dyan Burlingame (set design), John Rickus (light design), Maura A. Simmonds-Price (costume design/props), John Shotwell (sound design). The Christians is proudly sponsored by St. John Baptist Church.

Synopsis: Today, Pastor Paul will reveal his honest belief that Hell does not exist. Today, his friend and associate Pastor Joshua will publicly oppose him-splitting our parish and dividing its families. Today, each of us will bear witness to their debate, forced to decide what we believe to be true, what we need to be true.

"The Christians... doesn't have a 'message' or a point of view on salvation to proclaim. It's a harrowing dig through our hearts, a play about our deepest and, often, most noble desires and motivations and yearnings."
- Alissa Wilkinson, Christianity Today
