Adapted from the beloved young adult novel by Paul Gallico—a favorite of J.K. Rowling’s, among others, and the winner of the 2014 International Performing Arts for Youth (IPAY) Victor Award—Manxmouse tells the story of a strange little mouse with blue fur, ears like a rabbit, and no tail. But Manxmouse doesn’t mind being different. Setting out on a brave adventure, he meets tigers, hawks, and dastardly pet-shop owners—and is absolutely fearless in the face of his differences.
Reimagined as a witty and whimsical story-within-a-story by renowned Dutch children’s company Theatergroep Kwatta, this epic tale of a tiny hero is full of lively characters, inventive theatrical feats, and important lessons about what hope can accomplish when coupled with bravery.
