Always on a quest for new forms and featuring an extraordinary repertory of work by some of the world’s most forward-thinking choreographers, New York-based company Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet celebrates a decade with a BAM debut. Showcasing a remarkable versatility—and a virtuosity that’s grounded in ballet, but far more expansive in style—Cedar Lake’s 16 incredible dancers perform the company’s commissioned pieces over the course of four evenings.
The Program B lineup comprises performances of Violet Kid, a dark, primal piece by Hofesh Shechter, featuring live musical accompaniment; Alexander Ekman’s stunningly rhythmic Tuplet; and Jo Strømgren’s theatrical romp Necessity, Again.
