Birth of a Hip-Hop Nation at BAM Harvey Theater

BAM pays homage to the roots and contemporary resonance of hip-hop in this showcase of nationally recognized spoken-word artists. Collaborating with musicians and dancers, these poets celebrate the South Bronx-born movement as a universal platform for self-expression, tackling issues on the block and around the world. Students have the opportunity to see a culturally and generationally diverse group of professional artists perform, discovering firsthand that the political is always personal.
