brooklynONE Brings Back Brooklyn Shakespeare Festival with MEASURE FOR MEASURE

brooklynONE productions (bkONE) present William Shakespeare's Measure for Measure.

Celebrating its 5th year, brooklynONE productions brings back its annual Brooklyn Shakespeare Festival.

"Producing outdoor Shakespeare is a time honored NYC tradition," said Anthony Marino, Artistic Director. "And we are thrilled that the Brooklyn Shakespeare Festival is now in its 5th year, a true Bay Ridge tradition."

"The most rewarding part about this year has been the development of a tight-knit ensemble of actors who are dedicated and generous in their work. Added Joanna Connelly, Assistant Director and Actor in the piece." Producing Shakespeare is always important, and that is part of the reason that this Festival is so needed, and this production has been a perfect way to celebrate five years in the park."

brooklynONE productions created the Brooklyn Shakespeare Festival in 2012, and each year the productions get more innovative with a growing audience base.

This year Measure for Measure features six actors playing all of the roles, making for exciting, fast paced action. brooklynONE will also provide lite snacks and water/juice for sale at the show. Make sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket to best enjoy the experience!

"Its a rain or shine event, and we know it's going to be our best festival yet, the cast is phenomenal. Said Anthony Marino. "We are excited to offer 2 days of performances this year! Six shows total! We can't wait to see everyone!"

The show will play on Saturday August 12th and Sunday the 13th at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm at the Owls Head Park Overlook. This year the festival adds musical performances an art fair presented by Brooklyn Streetcar Artists Group and a special rock-painting event with Bay Ridge Rocks! Group.

The show stars Samantha Artese, Nicole Ashley Franz, Joanna Connolly, Brandon Lewis, Stephanie Sottile, and Christopher Ellis. Directed by Anthony Marino, Jessica Bathhurst with Joanna Connelly. Performances run August 12th & 13th 2017 at Owls Head Park in Bay Ridge Brooklyn at 12pm 3pm and 6pm. This is a FREE event. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchase.

With a focus on ensemble work, the artistic process and community activism BrooklynONE continues to cultivate thought provoking works and mentor new and emerging artists of all ages and levels.
