Gallery Players announces the third show of its 50th season: the critically acclaimed and timely, A Few Good Men. The play is a riveting courtroom drama that investigates both the essence of our military and the Marine code of honor. A Few Good Men is as impactful today as the day it was written.

Writer, Aaron Sorkin wrote this piece while working as a bartender at the Palace Theatre. A Few Good Men was an immediate success after its Broadway premier in 1989. From there it became an academy award winning film starring Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson in 1992. A Few Good Men is based off of true events that Sorkin's sister, a JAG lawyer, had relayed to him after she had worked on the case. Sorkin used her details to sculpt an accurate and gripping telling of the inner workings of military justice.

A Few Good Men pits inexperienced Navy lawyer, Lt. Daniel Kaffee, against top brass as he attempts to defend two Marines on trial for murdering one of their own. While admittedly not a poster-boy for good behavior, Kaffee rises to the occasion to defend his clients. As the court case proceeds and the specter of conspiracy arises, the tenacious Kaffee finds himself asking complex questions of honor, duty and humanity that demand an answer.

A Few Good Men opens Saturday, December 3rd, and runs for 12 performances through Sunday, December 18th, 2016. Performances will be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm. The second and third, Saturdays will also have matinees at 2:00 pm.
