From Coney Island's earliest days as a natural park to its heyday as a place for amusement and bathing in the late 1800s and early 1900s. From its destruction and decline in the middle 20th century to its revitalization in the 21st, Coney Island has had a long and interesting history. Clara Coquette presents a tale of this history through burlesque and sideshow with tributes to Coney Island's rides and amusement parks, bathing beauties and circus performers, events and characters, and much more.
"Coney Island is and always will be 'the people's playground.' It's a place where people of all backgrounds come to have a good time." quote Coney Island born, photographer Harold Feinstein. Come take your place in the history of Coney Island among the amusements and grand boardwalk.
