SILVER DREAM: OASIS Debuts In Brooklyn Next Month

An alternative reality is opening up in Brooklyn inside a street fair to celebrate the announcement of a faux-oasis titled: Brooklyn's Oasis to be installed directly off the Morgan L (Bogart Street) stop, and introduce audiences to season one: Oasis by Silver Dream Projects . On June 1st, Silver Dream Projects will be launching its first live alternative reality experience, in collaboration with: The NYC Department of Transportation, This is Not a Theater Company, Citi Bike, Recess, Friends NYC, SynLawn, Scatter, Uni Project, and Ars Poetica on Bogart St (above the Morgan Ave. L train stop) with an assembly of artists and creatives - creator Andrew Wehnke's aim is clear: to create a massive alternative playground where guests use their own creative expression to explore the rich narrative of the event, and are invited to taste, explore, create, and fall into a Silver Dream, as they meet and interact with the various layers of this alternate reality.

The goal of this project is to build the origin threads of the Silver Dream world, and activate new audience players into the story world. Inspired by the general fiasco of the L train shutdown, Silver Dream aims to transport audiences to a fantastical world with a system they use every day: the subway. Silver Dream transforms a 20-minute delay into a 20-minute long vacation, to another world.

The essence of this experiment is to build SDP's creative community and bring them to the forefront of the experience. SDP is an organization dedicated to discovering hidden layers of reality and making them into experiences for diverse audiences. This project represents the perfect blend of everything we stand for as storytellers, and the magic of audiences stumbling into alternate realities. We're developing a new way to hear the local voices of artists and the urban community. To that end, we're inviting various arts companies, creatives, brands, and groups to come out and play within the new Silver Dream world, in hopes of opening a shared creative layer to reality.

On June 1st, SDP will introduce a mysterious travel agency into this reality. And so, where they will be announcing their newest project: an oasis in the heart of a community where not all voices are being heard. June 1st will blend this ground-breaking ceremony from an alternate reality with an immersive street fair, and our own reality.

By August 31st, we'll be offering: an L-train flashmob, L-train Romeo and Juliet, games that introduce you to the world of the Silver Dream, scavenger hunts, one-on-one character interactions, digital stories, and free samplings of in-world treats.
