Random Access Theatre (RAT) is bringing actors getting wasted on stage to a whole new level of classiness with Drunk Restoration Comedy! Following the success of the One Night Only fundraising event in September, Random Access Theatre is pleased to announce that the drunken fun will continue as they partner with The Players Theatre for a six month run starting March 4th, 2016. Join RAT the first Friday of every month at 10pm at the Players Theatre as they thrust their artistic associates along with some very special guests onto the stage, shot glasses in hand for an audience interactive staged reading of the best known works of the Restoration era.
After selling out last month's reading of Tis Pity She's a Whore, RAT is back for a May the 4th be with you themed reading of Star Wars Shakespeare: The Empire Striketh Back! Part scripted, part improvisation, the cast will utilize a combination of their professional training, both on stage and off (in the bar), as audience members "choose-their-own-adventure" by deciding which performers will have the most mighty hangovers come Saturday morning. The season will feature both RAT Artistic Associates as well as a rotating cast of some of the best improvisers and comedians on the NYC circuit. RAT will then continue the season with Richard Sheridan's "School for Scandal" in June, a Bastille Day production of Moliere's "The Misanthrope" in July and will close with Aphra Behn's "The Rover" in August. Come for the booze, and stay for the comedy because Drunk Restoration is an event not to be missed!
