RUDE Comedy Celebrates Anniversary With Party And Revamped Scheduling Image

RUDE, a weekly night of alt comedy shows every Tuesday at Williamsburg's South 4th Bar, has announced that it will celebrate its successful first year with an anniversary party supported by New Belgium Brewery, as well as with revamped scheduling as it enters its second year.

The anniversary party will be held on April 10th at South 4th Bar and, in keeping with RUDE tradition, will be free to attend. New Belgium Brewery will offer 2 different beers for $5 and free giveaways throughout the night. The anniversary party will be hosted by Brooklyn comedians and RUDE producers Ian Lockwood and D. Arthur.

Additionally, RUDE will restructure their weekly format, beginning with the April 10th anniversary night, with new equipment and an overhauled show schedule from 8-11PM. Each week, the first two hours of RUDE will feature programmed shows, and the night will culminate in the new RUDE open mic at 10PM (with sign ups at 9PM at South 4th Bar). Submissions for shows can continue being sent through www.rudecomedy.com/pitch.

"We are so excited to be continuing our partnership with South 4th Bar, and are extremely grateful to our sponsors at New Belgium Brewery for their renewed support," said RUDE creator Ian Lockwood. "The Brooklyn comedy scene is vibrant and rowdy and distinct, unlike anything else, and RUDE has become so much more than a showcase for strong talent and unpredictable shows. It's a home for groundbreaking, experimental new comedy and an incredible community that has grown so much. We're really proud of what we've accomplished in our first year and can't wait to see what the future holds."

Comedy shows during the party on April 10th will include:

8PM - Let's Leave South 4th Bar, an escape room/comedy show hybrid (Jason Weitzman, Marybess Pritchett, Jessika Stocker, Dan Hanf, Larry Sass-Ainsworth, Chase Montavon, Rome Davis, Julianna Goldbas, D. Arthur, Ian Lockwood)

8:30PM - ABC: Anything But Comedy, an anti-comedic variety show (Dash Turner, D. Arthur, guests)

9PM - Sponsored By Fat Tire, RUDE's flagship stand up show (Sophie Zucker, Charlie Bardey, guests)
10PM - RUDE Open Mic (sign ups at 9PM)
