Department store Santa Claus's across New York are shaking in their black boots as Psycho Clan, the artistic team behind New York's iconic Nightmare Haunted House & Full Bunny Contact Extreme Egg Hunt announces the return of Santastical for a second year, now called NORTHERN POLE TERRITORY: A SANTASTICAL BIT OF HOLIDAY NONSENSE in Brooklyn's super hip Greenpoint neighborhood, in one of its crown jewels, Northern Territory (located at 12 Franklin Street at Meserole Street).
The event takes place over three floors of Holiday mischief, including the ground floor where you can take a picture with a very non-traditional Santa (and we mean different) December 1st - December 23rd, Thursday-Sunday from 6-10 pm.
Tickets are FREE for entry to the bar ($15 for photo with Santa and $5 for rooftop entry). You can get both the photo and rooftop access for only $15 if you buy them in advance. There are also brunch time family hours with a traditional Santa every Sunday from Noon-3 pm for more information and tickets go to www.northernpoleterritory.com.
NORTHERN POLE TERRITORY: A SANTASTICAL BIT OF HOLIDAY NONSENSE takes place at Northern Territory, an Australia bar and restaurant with what is considered one of the best rooftop bars in the country with a view of the Manhattan skyline. When you first enter, you can enjoy the cozy environment with a hot tottie and a picture with one of 4 different Santa personalities (hunky Santa, Sexy Mrs. Claus, the Jewish Santa Hanukklaus, and Elvis Santa). Then you make your way upstairs to the rooftop and enter a distorted winter wonderland filled with activities like plush snowball fights, a mistletoe grotto, a pretend Ice-skating rink, and Christmas tree forest where the evil Krampus lives. You can use your own device to take a photo with him or of yourself basking in the absurdity of it all amongst a ton of plastic Christmas lawn decorations and a blinding amount of colored Christmas lights. Christmas music, hot craft cocktails and other holiday cheer abound as this winter wonderland is pure nostalgia for adults who miss acting like kids, but also want to be in a bar.
"It's as if the gaudiest Midwest Christmas lawn display exponentially exploded inside a Brooklyn bar," says Northern Pole creator Timothy Haskell. "This is Nostalgic, irreverent fun for adults who remember fondly (or not, we don't give a sh*t) taking pictures with Santa at the Mall, and would like to do something, you know, Christmas-y so they can check off "do something for the holidays" off their to-do list.
We have great Corporate parties packages - this is a cool and unique for your Holiday party! For corporate and group bookings and advance GA Tickets for Northern Pole Territory go to www.northernpoleterritory.com.
Psycho Clan had long been the artistic team behind the world renowned "Nightmare Haunted House" and produced This is Real in Redhook, Brooklyn this past Halloween. The original Psycho Clan members, Timothy Haskell (the creator of Nightmare Haunted House) and Paul Smithyman (production designer), have been joined by Charles Dunham, Faye Armon (Broadway props designer) and Nathaniel Nowak (producer, Full Bunny Contact) to expand productions of the Psycho Clan company to include various immersive theatrical spectacles this season and beyond. Psycho Clan's participation, however, in haunted houses may rear its scary head once again in the future.
A contemporary Australian-American Restaurant and rooftop bar set in an old factory building in the heart of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Northern Territory features their own renditions on Australian classics, offering nostalgia to Aussie transplants and expats while keeping time with the beat of one of the trendiest neighborhoods in the country. The rooftop offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline while the bar provides creative yet approachable cocktails alongside classic Australian Beer and a wine list composed exclusively of Australian and New Zealand varietals. Northern Territory is a must visit, a spacious getaway in Brooklyn.
