Director Lilleth Glimcher (The Flea Theater) stages CAENIS, a physical theater adaptation of a myth from Ovid's Metamorphoses at Pace Gallery, March 11-19. Created in collaboration with a hybrid group of multidisciplinary artists, CAENIS, merges sound, sculpture, video design, and dance.

Performances of CAENIS will run Friday, March 11 at Pace Gallery (534 West 25th Street, New York, NY 10001), through Saturday, March 19. Tickets are $30 ($50 on opening night, to include a party), and are available at http://www.caenis.nyc/tickets/

When the Lapith maiden, Caenis, is confronted by the imperious Neptune, she must demand the agency she deserves. Enveloped by an epic soundscape within the walls of Pace, audiences will journey with Caenis from prey to protector, from woman to man, and from bystander to culprit.

The cast features LUCY KAMINSKY (600 Highwaymen) as Caenis/Caenus, and The Greek Chorus features Ashton Muñiz, Rebeca Rad, Krystel Mazzeo, Sohina Sidhu, Sara Ciampa, Itamar Segev, Isabella Sazak, Ethan Hardy, Jae Woo, and Neil Redfeild.

The production team includes Amanda Hamline (Choreographer), Laura Bernstein (Costume and Mask Sculptor), Alice Emily Baird (Sound Artist), Jonathan Cottle (Set & Light Designer), Hye Young Chyun (Properties & Mask Sculptor), Madeleine F. Bersin (Executive Producer), Alex Tobey (Stage Manager & Assistant Director), David Manella (Associate Producer), James Danner (Associate Producer), Chris Batstone (Production Manager), Lexy Copithorne (Graphic Designer), and Rachel Libeskind (Launch Video Artist).

Lilleth Glimcher (Concept, Writer, Director) is a freelance theater director who focuses on sensorial theater that not only appeals to the body in space, but also asks the audience to be active and culpable. She is a resident director at The Flea Theater, and her New York directing highlights include CAENIS (Pace Gallery, Spring 2016; Flea workshops), The Blast (The Chelsea Hotel, Spring 2016), Houseworld (associate; sight specific, Fall 2015); 1969: The Second Man (Ars Nova's ANTfest, Summer 2014); TinyRhino (2015); and #serials at The Flea (2015/2016). Lilleth has assisted 600 Highwaymen (EU/U.S. Tour 2015; Park Avenue Armory, 2015; The Public's Under the Radar, 2016), Niegel Smith (The Flea Theater, 2015), Emily Reilly & Stephanie Hayes (Mabou Mines Residency, 2015), and Lily Whitsitt (Drama League, 2015; Jim Findley Studio, 2014).
