In four concerts, PhiloSonia's second season "Liaisons" explores composers' friendships and the works they inspired.
About "Liaisons I: The Schumanns & Brahms":
Passionate and tragic, complex and mysterious, the bond between these three great musical personalities was marked by mutual admiration and ardent support. During a time of fervent conflict between absolute and program music, their friendship formed the center of a stronghold in defense of the aesthetic values of pure music.
