On Friday October 12th, On Stage At Kingsborough kicks off its 2018-2019 season. Join Grammy Award-Winning vocalist Catherine Russell and famed singer/guitarist John Pizzarelli as they salute Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra with "Billie and Blue Eyes." This unforgettable concert will feature soulful interpretations of chart-topping classics like "All of Me," "Ring A Ding Ding," "Them There Eyes," and "One More For My Baby."
Catherine Russell has six decorated albums to her credit, and won a Grammy for her appearance as a featured artist on the soundtrack album for the HBO TV series Boardwalk Empire. Her sixth album, Harlem On My Mind, received a Grammy Nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Catherine has toured the world, performing and recording with David Bowie, Steely Dan, Cyndi Lauper, Jackson Browne, Michael Feinstein, Levon Helm, Paul Simon, Rosanne Cash, Carrie Smith, Toshi Reagon, Wynton Marsalis, Dr. John, Joan Osborne, Vince Giordano, and many others, appearing on over 200 albums.
Since beginning his solo recording career in 1990, John Pizzarelli has performed at countless clubs and concert halls on the jazz circuit, opening for such greats as Dave Brubeck, Ramsey Lewis and Rosemary Clooney. In 1993, he opened for Frank Sinatra's international tour and joined in the celebration for his 80th birthday at Carnegie Hall, bringing down the house with his rendition of "I Don't Know Why I Love You Like I Do." Pizzarelli's 2006 album Dear Mr. Sinatra,his tribute to "Ol' Blue Eyes," was praised by The New York Timesfor "exploding with enthusiasm and excitement." Pizzarelli's album Midnight McCartney, reached No. 4 on Billboard's Jazz Albums chart. He received the 2009 Ella Fitzgerald Award from the Montreal International Jazz Festival, joining a select group of past winners including Aretha Franklin, Tony Bennett and Harry Connick Jr.

On Stage At Kingsborough (OSK) brings artistically and culturally diverse, multidisciplinary performances from masters of the form to the varied communities within and surrounding Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn. We strive to create an environment where the arts are an accessible and integral part of life, and the Arts Center is a community gathering place for interaction and inspiration. We present world class dance, cabaret, theatre, music, and family performances in the Leon M. Goldstein Performing Arts Center and Kingsborough Community College's Lighthouse from October to May, and our Hot Summer Nights! free outdoor concert series at Kingsborough Community College's bandshell every July. Our school-time shows welcome classes from local public and private schools, a majority of which serves economically-disadvantaged or special needs populations. The 2018-2019 season reflects our commitment to present world-class artists in exclusive Brooklyn engagements.
