Playwright/performer Stacey Karen Robinson shares her new solo exploration mixing song, movement and her distinctive storytelling style. A seeker at the crossroads wrestles to be free; she shape shifts through the body, through the memory of many selves in a dynamic sojourn of heart & spirit.

ABOUT THE ARTIST Stacey Karen Robinson is a performer and writer. She developed You Never Can Always Sometimes Tell with the support of a 2017 Process Space Residency from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and a work in progress production at Salvage Vanguard Theater, TX. Her previous solo work, Quiet Frenzy, is published in solo / black / woman: scripts, interviews, and essays, Northwestern University Press, 2014. Performances of Quiet Frenzy included: JACK, the John L. Warfield Center for African & African American Studies, Northwestern University and the Wild Project. A Bronx native, she is a proud recipient of the BRIO, Bronx Recognizes Its Own Award for Playwriting, 2009. Stacey has appeared as an actress in many productions, including Daniel Alexander Jones' DUAT (Soho Rep.), Toshiki Okada's Quiet Comfort (Hoi Polloi) and Erik Ehn's Her Speech (Planet Connections - Playwrights for a Cause). She will appear in upcoming productions of Kaneza Schaal's JACK & .JACK's presenting season is made by the National Endowment for the Arts - Art Works program, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, New Music USA's NYC New Music Impact Fund (made possible with funding from The Scherman Foundation's Katharine S. and Axel G. Rosin Fund), Brooklyn Arts Council, The DuBose and Dorothy Heyward Memorial Fund, the Mental Insight Foundation, The Santvoord Foundation, The Lida Foundation and M & T Charitable Foundation.
