Vibrant, touching, and thought-provoking, In the Heights tells the story of the changing cultural landscape of Washington Heights, and makes us ask, what is home? We follow a young bodega owner, Usnavi, his cousin, and the rest of the neighborhood. as they navigate the times in Washington Heights. This modern musical engages the audience, and makes them consider their own role in their families, their neighborhood community and in all of New York City.
In the Heights opened at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre in 2008 where it was nominated for an incredible thirteen Tony Awards, winning four for Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations. Additionally, it won the 2009 Grammy Award for its Original Broadway Cast Album and was nominated for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize in Drama.
In the Heights opens Saturday, April 23rd, and runs for 16 performances through Sunday, May 15th, 2016. Performances will be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm. The third and fourth Saturdays will also have matinees at 2:00 pm.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for senior citizens, students, and children 12 and under.
