Rappers and poets break down borders to collaboratively create an ode to Brooklyn's gritty streets. Ghetto Hors D'oeuvres sparks dialogue on complex issues of immigration, economics, and survival through the rich art, poetry, and music of a city that is home to more artists in the US than any other. Enjoy free hors d'oeuvres and bear witness as an eclectic group of Brooklyn artists, both native and immigrant, decipher the block and break down the rock that is the foundation and cornerstone of the Brooklyn we call home. Performances followed by live band, DJ set, conversation, and dancing.
Ghetto Hors D'oeuvres features MCs, poets, artists, and musicians, including Robert Greene, JoAnn DeLuna, Jason Koo, Adriana DiGennaro, Billionz, Joannesta, Jim 730 Bell, Modesto Flako Jimenez, Chrissy Malvasi, Chris Slaughter, Amber West, Slick The Misfit, Prince PremeO, Daniel Broadhurst, and Robert Hall Parker.
Produced by Brooklyn Gypsy, Ghetto Hors D'oeuvres is directed by Modesto Flako Jimenez, musical direction by Daniel Broadhurst, composer Will Vast U Stoddard, set design by Federico Massa, art work by Muffin Man and Art By Ken, live music by Cookies, special guest DJ JoJoSoul, with catering by Chef Michael Frazier.
