Brooklyn Repertory returns with their second production - a sharp and poignant social drama written by contemporary female playwright, Rebecca Gilman.
Curt is a working class cop struggling to rise through the ranks and prove himself equal to his fiance, Beth, an artist from a privileged class. Sandy is the nineteen-year-old prostitute he first tries to arrest, then attempts to help. When his promotion is derailed by a sting operation gone wrong, Curt finds himself drawn to Sandy and her struggle to rise above the circumstance of her birth.
Rebecca Gilman explores the line that divides hope from hopelessness, as Curt and Sandy both try to get a foothold in the American dream.
In keeping with the company ethos of color-bind casting, this upcoming production features two asian actresses in lead roles.
*Please be advised that performance features full-frontal male nudity, and is not suitable for minors.
