Brooklyn Art Song Society announces free pre-concert lecture for Friday, October 6, 2017 7:00 PM featuring Marilyn McCoy.
Marilyn L. McCoy is Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music Humanities at Columbia University in New York, where she has taught since 2009. Professor McCoy is much in demand as a concert lecturer. In addition to her long association with the MahlerFest in Boulder, Colorado (2002-2015), where she served as annual pre-concert lecturer and symposium participant, she has spoken at Disney Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center, and at the Bard College Festivals "Berg and His World" (2010) and "Mahler and His World" (2002).
Though primarily a "Mahler scholar," she served as Assistant Archivist at the Arnold Schoenberg Institute in Los Angeles for the last 3 years of its existence (1995-98). Her edition, with Elizabeth Keathley, of the correspondence between Alma Mahler and Arnold Schoenberg, will soon be published by Oxford University Press. La France I: Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel
