Have a slice of pie provided by NY Times Recommend Pie Birds and grab a pint from 61 Local's bar for a staged reading of a play with actors from stage and screen. The pie flavor is inspired by the play!

The reading on May 15th will be directed by Illana Stein (Theater for a New Audience, A.R.T., Signature Theatre).

The cast includes Jessica Giannone (Bristol Old Vic, Williamstown, SPACE on Ryder Farm), David Ebert (Master of None, UCB), Gil Perez-Abraham (The Young Pope, Madam Secretary), Valeria A. Avina (The Flea, INTAR), Melissa Mickens (Williamstown, Shampagne), Andrea Abello (INTAR, The Lark), and Oscar Cabrera (INTAR, Bonnet Blues).

The reading will begin at 7:30pm.

Suggested Donation of $5.

61 Local (61 Bergen St.) is located steps away from the BERGEN stop on the F/G train. It is a 5 minute walk from the BOROUGH HALL stop on the 4/5 train and the HOYT-SCHERMERHORN stop on the A/C train.

The Pie, Pint, and a Play Reading series was begun by actress and NY Times Recommended pie baker, Jessica Giannone, in 2015 and has been in residence at 61 Local since 2016. Each play presented has been written, directed and produced by a female artist. Past plays have been by Abi Morgan (Lovesong, The Iron Lady), Bekah Brunstetter (NBC's This Is Us, The Cake), and Christina Quintana (Gumbo, EST). Past performers have included such actors as Becky Ann Baker (The Hairy Ape, Girls), Lizbeth Mackay (Bull in a China Shop, The Humans), and Keira Naughton (These Paper Bullets).
