From her humble beginnings of consecutive wins on eighties talent show 'Star Search', O'Donnell's brashness and boldness quickly found itself on the big screen, standing out amongst her contemporaries with show stealing supporting turns in contemporary classics like A League Of Their Own, Sleepless In Seattle and Now And Then, as well as a Broadway performance and countless voice roles with that unmistakable Long Island accent.
After showing her unique gift balancing the fine line between brave and big-hearted, O'Donnell's talents took her to the logical next step - her own daytime talk show. Unsurprisingly "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" would prove to be a huge success, O'Donnell's heart-on-her-sleeve nature welcoming multiple celebrities to her couch, winning the Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show host over six consecutive years and Outstanding Talk Show across four.
Armed with her razor sharp wit and disarming honesty, O'Donnell signed on as co-host and moderator of the often polarising daytime talk show The View in 2006. With O'Donnell as its most outspoken cast member, ratings instantly skyrocketed and the comedian was credited with balancing the show with a renewed focus on news, politics and cerebral humour as well as the more light-hearted fare. This resulted in Time Magazine naming O'Donnell as one of 2007's 'most influential people'.
