Duda’s Tuba Concerto No. 1 will be performed by tubist Andreas Hofmeir in a rare combination of the brass instrument with orchestra. The 2005 winner of the German Music Competition, tuba virtuoso Hofmeir handles “his weight instrument so light-footedly that some violinists will be envious – from the lowest depths to a tenor brilliance.”
