Piers Lane’s sold-out 2010 Chopin Nocturnes by Candlelight recital beautifully evoked the intimate atmosphere of the Parisian salons of the nineteenth century. In a candlelit stage setting, Piers will perform some of Chopin’s most famous works, including his great masterpiece the Fantaisie in F minor.
The program also includes a selection of Chopin’s hauntingly beautiful nocturnes. These atmospheric, dreamlike works are the very soul and essence of Chopin’s glorious music.
Piers Lane’s busy international career sees him performing regularly at the BBC Proms and with many of the world’s leading orchestras and conductors. He has an extensive concerto repertoire of 95 works and a discography of over 50 CDs. Piers Lane is Artistic Director of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music and the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition.
