The ladies are back Brisbane! From Thursday 3 to Saturday 12 November the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts will be abuzz when Women in Voice hit the performance space.

Renowned for showcasing Australia's best female vocal talent, Brisbane's iconic cabaret institution Women in Voice (WiV) returns to the Judy this November with a formidable line-up of superlative songstresses. In true Women in Voice tradition, the lively, funny and all-female celebration will feature both beloved favourites and exceptional new talent.

Three newcomers will be welcomed to the WiV family - Sahara Beck, the dazzling singer/songwriter voted Most Popular Female at the 2015 Queensland Music Awards; Alicia Cush, a self-confessed "rogue classical singer" who has delighted audiences in Brisbane and across Queensland as part of Little Black

Dress Creatives; and Emcee Judy Hainsworth, the writer, composer and performer of the hugely successful comedy double act #FirstWorldWhiteGirls.

They will be joined on stage by WiV Royalty including Leah Cotterell, who wowed audiences at the 2015 Women of the World Festival at QPAC, and Alison St Ledger, who is acclaimed for her insightful and entertaining story-telling through song. Alison promises to take audiences on another priceless trip down a retro-memory lane.

A Brisbane tradition which started more than 25 years ago to offer exposure to female artists, WiV has featured artists including Chrissie Amphlett, Deborah Conway, Margret RoadKnight, Jenny Morris, Katie Noonan; Christine Johnston, Jeannie Lewis, Carita Farrer, Kate Miller-Heidke; Lil' Fi, Deborah Cheetham; Kavisha Mazella, Emma Dean; Carol Burns, Annie Lee; Karen Crone, Queenie Vanderzandt and Barbara Fordham.

"The creation of each new Women in Voice production is so much more than just another song concert - it is an event that sees Brisbane's enormous vocal talent creating and celebrating together," said Leah Cotterell.

Women in Voice opens at the Judy on 3 November and runs until 12 November. Tickets on sale now!
