With scenic Moreton Bay as a fitting backdrop, Brisbane's Music By The Sea Festival 2014 - on 10, 11, 12 January - is as well known for its location, as it is for its world class performances.
Launching into the new year on a wave of comfort and style in the cool (air-con) of Sandgate's iconic, fully restored Federation style Sandgate Town Hall, the winning formula of mixed genres attracts seasoned music lovers and novices alike with a program of jazz, folk, comedy, world music and classical performances.
Virtuoso guitar duo Slava and Leonard Grigoryan - Joseph Tawadros Trio on oud (world class), riq, bendir and piano - Apollo Ensemble (Holland) one of Europe's leading Baroque and classical music groups - and The Sojourners with C. R. Avery (Canada), are a taste of this intimate experience.
Meanwhile, between sessions, enjoy a good coffee flavoured with diverse world music as the Acoustic Cafe Series performs in intimate cafe settings - within easy proximity of the Town Hall.
