ARIA award winning songstress Sarah Blasko will awaken your senses when she performs on the Concert Hall stage, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) backed by a full orchestra on Saturday 9 February 2013.

Not one to ever shy away from breaking new ground, Blasko is taking to the Concert Hall stage accompanied by the lush sounds of the Queensland Pops Orchestra, to perform songs from her new album I Awake, as well as selected hits from her previous repertoire.

For her fourth studio album I Awake, Blasko took on the role of producer, recording in Stockholm, Sweden and in Sofia, Bulgaria with the 52-piece Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra.

Already acclaimed by critics as her masterpiece, I Awake is a grand statement from one of the country’s most unique and respected artists.

Having won two ARIAs for Best Female and Best Pop Album, plus triple j’s J Award for Australian Album of the Year, Blasko has also been nominated for a further 14 ARIAs (including two for Album of The Year) and shortlisted for two Australian Music Prizes and another J Award.

Touring with Sarah Blasko as her special guest on the ‘I Awake’ National Tour is Joe Mckee. Best known for his previous work with West Australian band Snowman, McKee’s debut solo album ‘Burning Boy’ has him standing out on his own. Garnering critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone and The Australian with his hypnotising baritone and sparsely intricate detail, Joe McKee will captivate audiences this February.
