2015 will see the Queensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC's) FREE Friday night live music program expand, running through the year under the title Front Yard Music.
QPAC's 'Front Yard' on the Melbourne Street Green will showcase live music every Friday* night from 5pm. This change will see Front Yard Music absorb the well known and loved event, SEED.
Kicking off on Friday 22 May and running until 25 September 2015, the Front Yard Music program includes an eclectic mix of country, world and contemporary music featuring local artists.
Selected SEED artists, as part of the QPAC and Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU) partnership, will take over the Front Yard from 19 June to 21 August 2015.
Front Yard Music will transform the Melbourne Street Green into THE place to be for FREE live music on a Friday* evening. Burleigh Brewing Co. has come on board and will be serving draft beer as well as wines, soft drink and other beverages. Well priced grab and go food options will also be available.
QPAC Chief Executive John Kotzas said Front Yard Music is a reminder that live performance doesn't just happen in the theatres.
"The Melbourne Street Green is QPAC's front yard and in our 30th Anniversary year we extend a warm welcome to people to make this weekly event part of their weekend wind-down routine or to bring their family and friends along to kick off the weekend with quality, local, live entertainment in a stunning setting with good food and wine on offer.
"We are driven by the vision that the performing arts matter to everyone and this initiative is one of many invitations in our 30th year to come, participate, relax, and make this place your place," said Mr Kotzas.
There will be something for everyone as part of QPAC's FREE Front Yard Music program. Join us each Friday night and kick start your weekend in the best possible way; enjoying FREE live music! For more information go to qpac.com.au or call 136 246.
