NICA is calling for young people with backgrounds in areas such as sport, circus, gymnastics, dance and theatre to audition for places in Australia's only Bachelor of Circus Arts.

As the country's Centre of Excellence in contemporary circus arts training, positions at NICA are much sought after and attract Australia's most talented, physically gifted and creative young performers.

In 2001, NICA pioneered Australia's first Bachelor of Circus Arts, with an aim to prepare students for national and international careers in contemporary circus arts and physical theatre. NICA graduates have secured positions with Circus Oz, CIRCA, La Soriee, Legs on the Wall and Cirque du Soleil

Skills developed during the course include basic physical training, circus skills, performance and dance, history and culture of circus, entrepreneurship, and health and safety in the circus environment.

The Bachelor of Circus Arts is an innovative three-year degree program based at NICA in Melbourne, at the Swinburne University of Technology Prahran campus. Entry to the course is by audition. NICA also offers Certificate III and Certificate IV foundation courses. Prospective students must complete an application form and attend an audition and interview in the location nearest them.
