Music by the Sea's next concert is a 'CONCERT OF THREE CHOIRS', featuring Musica Antiqua Collegii, Counterpoint Vocal Ensemble and the Multitude Choir tonight 5 October, Sandgate Town Hall, 7.30pm.

Musica Antiqua Collegii (Spencer Faulkner/Music Director) is a community choir of between 45 and 55 choristers of all ages. The choir prepares four programmes a year, two of which are major choral works. The choir had its origin in the Early Music programme which existed on Kedron Campus of B.C.A.E. in the early eighties. MAC will perform works by JS Bach, Vivaldi (Magnificat) and arias of various baroque composers.

Counterpoint Vocal Ensemble was formed by Ian and Lesley Brown, after a musically-enriching involvement with the Tudor Choristers in Melbourne. They felt there was a need on the north side of Brisbane for a small amateur choral group specialising in good quality a cappella vocal music. Since its establishment 26 years ago, Counterpoint has developed an extensive and varied repertoire ranging from renaissance sacred classics to contemporary vocal jazz numbers, frequently focusing on works by Australian composers.

Multitude Choir (Dale Lingwood/Music Director, Alice Taylor/Accompanist) is a contemporary-music or 'show' choir with a versatile repertoire of pop, jazz, gospel and Broadway music. The choir was founded in 2004 on a simple premise: to bring together people with a passion for singing in a new, different and contemporary styled choir. Multitude Choir have partnered with the Redcliffe City Orchestra Concerts, The Brisbane Concert Orchestra and Sandgate Musical Theatre. Community concerts include Redcliffe City & Moreton Bay Regional Council {MBRC}, and MBRC Arts Council Concerts, Scarborough Lights Up, Australian National Choral Association Community Choir Concerts, and the RNA EKKA.
