I Love Todd Sampson is an experiential theatrical work which integrates architecture, sound, film, equine science and performance to expose the vulnerability of human nature.
The cast includes an Iberian stallion, Jazz, his trainer Kate Fenner and Michelle St Anne as Laura/Billie.
Laura is not doing too well. Old friends are back to haunt her as she tries to hide from her past. During difficult years with her father, Billie constructed an alternative reality where she heard cello's and
danced with horses. She emerges as Laura, who is struggling with her life and trying to create a new reality. It is the voice of television identity Todd Sampson - co-creator of the Earth House initiative
and commentator on The Gruen Transfer & The Project, that drowns out everything else.
Set within a circuitous environment created by architectural muse, Genevieve Lilley, the onlookers are woven into the journey as they follow Billie/Laura through the many spaces, alcoves and corridors
of 107 Projects.
"Pain erupts in strange places and this theatrical experience gives you an insight of how some deal with it. People are in pain and they are not heard. Which is all the worse." This is a work of our time...
with the Royal Commission into child abuse and cuts to arts funding, the greatest thing art can do is allow these voices to be heard." St Anne
