Ludovico Einaudi, the chart-topping Italian composer behind music for Golden Globe nominated box-office record breaker The Intouchables and Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar, will perform one concert only at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) on Wednesday 11 February 2015.

After filling the world's greatest concert halls from the Barbican to the Royal Albert Hall in London, Einaudi will take to QPAC's Concert Hall stage for a special performance of lush, atmospheric virtuosity, piano-led ballads and euphoric film scores.

In his first ever Queensland concert, Einaudi will feature his latest album In a Time Lapse with the backing of his virtuosic ensemble comprising strings, percussion, guitar, bass and keyboards/electronics. In Einaudi's signature emotional and adventurous style, In a Time Lapse draws on elements of classical, rock, folk, electronica and world music.

Having topped the iTunes classical chart with nine consecutive singles, produced 11 record-breaking albums and composed a string of film scores, Italian maestro Ludovico Einaudi has transcended classical-rock boundaries to become one of the most successful contemporary composers in the world.

Drawing as much from his rock 'n' roll upbringing as classical minimalist masters like Philip Glass, Steve Reich and Erik Satie, Einaudi's profound instrumentals have proven equally at home within a bed of electronics, as well as the orchestral swells of the Liverpool Philharmonic and the lush textures of his music has brought audiences to tears.

Don't miss this opportunity to witness Einaudi's powerful songbook live - a performance experience that has moved audiences across the world - on Wednesday 11 February in QPAC's Concert Hall. To book go to qpac.com.au or phone 136-246.
