A stunning success at last year's Studio Festival of Plays, this wry and poignant comedy delves into themes of memory, identity, and loss. Three sisters (a doctor, a health nut, and a wild child) gather at their former home in preparation for their mother's funeral. The women soon find themselves submerged in memories both funny and painful, and it becomes apparent that each sister has her own version of what truly happened years ago.
Do we ever truly outgrow our childhood selves? What do we owe to those who shaped who we are? A striking rumination on the relationships between mothers, daughters, and sisters, The Memory of Water attempts to answer these questions as it explores the rocky shores of the past. At the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre.
