SOMETHING ROTTEN! at Marblehead Little Theatre Opens June 21

Marblehead, Massachusetts — Marblehead Little Theatre is excited to announce that tickets are now on sale for Something Rotten! — opening June 21st and running for 10 performances through June 30th at Marblehead Little Theatre, 12 School Street, Marblehead, MA.

Something Rotten! is set in the Renaissance of the 1590s. It is an outrageous, musical farce about two brothers who are desperate to write a hit play. Nick and Nigel Bottom are contemporaries of Shakespeare who are stuck in the shadow of  "The Bard," the Renaissance rock star. When a local soothsayer foretells the future of theater involving singing, dancing and acting, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize what reaching the top really means.

Created by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Wayne Kirkpatrick, and successful screenwriters Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell, Something Rotten! is lauded as a “hysterical, joyous celebration of everything you love about Broadway.” The show received several best musical nominations and was hailed by Time Out New York as “the funniest musical comedy in at least 400 years.”

The Marblehead Little Theatre production is directed by Katie Meuse, with musical direction by David Flowers, choreography by Erin Pelikhov and produced by Ariel Sargent and Aaron Swiniuch through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International. The cast is as follows:
