Join WBUR for an evening with music theater writers Daniel Lazour and Patrick Lazour. Hailing from Boylston, MA, the Lazour brothers' Richard Rodgers Award-winning musical We Live in Cairo had its world premiere at the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University in 2019 and will be staged this fall at New York Theatre Workshop.
In Spring 2025, they will return to A.R.T. for the premiere of Night Side Songs, an immersive music-theater experience performed with an intimate audience, giving voice to doctors, patients, researchers, and caregivers. This genre-defying theatrical piece blends story and song, guiding us through the world of illness and bringing us closer to the essence of life.
WBUR senior arts and rtp slot culture reporter Cristela Guerra will moderate a conversation with the Lazours about their creative process, artistic vision, and upcoming work, including a special preview of songs from the new production.
