A trio of otherworldly spirits prophesize that Macbeth, the beloved war general, will someday be king. Consumed by ambition and coerced by the Lady Macbeth, Macbeth kills the king in the night to take the kingdom. Civil war erupts in the land as Macbeth is haunted by ghosts, guilt, and challenges to the throne.
