The year is 1563 and a poor traveling troupe of players have just pulled into town to rehearse their production of Everyman for a performance that evening at the local tavern. There's only one problem—their lead actor is nowhere to be seen. The new guy (what's his name?) is thrust into the role having no knowledge of the play or its lines. In this medieval actor's nightmare, he must use his own biography and wit as an aspiring actor to battle Death and prepare for new life. Through harrowing sword fights, clowning, puppetry, original music and dance, the colorful troupe will guide and goad him through a real life challenge of wits and language, showing him life in the theatre and inspiring a unique journey of the spirit in all of us. Will he discover what is truly important in life? And most importantly, will the show go on?
EveryActor is an original production devised by the summer Intern company and directed by Bill Barclay. (At the Rose Footprint Theatre/Bankside)
