The Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival returns for its 50th anniversary from February 12 to 17, 2025, at the Somerville Theatre. The festival features over 30 feature films, 80 short films, and various workshops and panels, culminating in a 24-hour film marathon. Among the highlights is the Dutch short film I'm Not a Robot, directed by Victoria Warmerdam, which explores themes of identity and technology through the story of Lara, a music producer navigating a bizarre reality after failing CAPTCHA tests. The festival celebrates both classic and contemporary works, bringing together enthusiasts from all over.
