The Windhover Performing Arts Center welcomes back Alison Cook-Beatty, a modern dance company based in New York City! Featuring seven dancers—Maddie Burnett, Jacob Blank, Hannah Dillenbeck, Ioanna Ioannides, Tomislav Nevistic, Payton Primer, and Ava Trochiano—the company will debut Alison’s world premiere, "Joyful Offering," set to Bach’s oboe concerto. Another performance, "LACRIMIS," choreographed by Alison in 2015 to a segment of Nicholas Lens’s operatic trilogy, Flamma Flamma: The Fire Requiem, will also be showcased. Additionally, a new work-in-progress titled "WATER," partly developed at the historic Kaatsban artist sanctuary earlier this year, will be presented. Alison Cook Beatty Dance has performed widely across the country throughout the past 12 years, gaining recognition for their noteworthy contributions to the arts and national media attention. The company is excited to bring their acclaimed work to Windhover!
Ballet Papillon, residing in Dallas,Texas, takes the stage for the other half of the program with 7 dancers. Led by Artistic Director Katina Kumar and Company Manager Travis Morrison, they will present their captivating blend of choreography, music, and artistry in a performance on pointe titled “Unbound. “A spectacular evening of live art is created by the dancers, who individually contribute their distinct expertise to the stage, ranging from complex footwork to harmonic couples and moving stories!
The audience will be enthralled and transformed by these dynamic and disparate troupes in the enchanting natural setting of Windhover's outdoor covered stage. Join them for their performances on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 at 7 PM!
